Gwadar Rights Movement:


The Balochistan government took. the decision days after violent demonstrations broke out around. the port city to pressure the government to accept the protesters' demands. Frequent protest marches organized. by the Gwadar Rights Movement (GRM), led by Maulana Hidaytoor Rehman. These protests demanded the protection of fishermen's rights. and an end to illegal fishing and trawling throughout coastal areas.


Violent demonstrations:


During the violent demonstrations. the government arrested leaders of the Gaza Reconstruction Movement. This done on the basis of liability for damage to public and private property. In Gwadar, the local government of Balochistan has already implemented Article 144. which prohibits riding stakes and public display of weapons.
