There have been previous conflicts. and demonstrations in Baluchistan around water. but the ongoing standoffs in Gwadar have become a key flashpoint in the midst of escalating tensions. that have exacerbated by inadequate governance as well as growing poverty and inequality. Protesters from Gwadar proceeded all the way to Karachi. the largest city in Pakistan. where they staged a demonstration in front of the Karachi Press Club in November of last year. As a result of this not being sufficient. In other words, the government has not yet found a solution to the water problem that is sustainable.
